Dr. Lydia Liu graduated from Guangzhou Medical College in China in 1991. She received an MD with high honors. Since that time, she has been integrating both Western and Eastern Medicine in her acupuncture and herbal medicine practice. Before moving to the United States, she spent six years in a major academic medical center in China where she obtained extensive experience in neurology, rheumatology, and the treatment of allergies. Lydia combines traditional Chinese medicine with Japanese style acupuncture, Tung’s acupuncture, Auricular acupuncture, and scalp acupuncture. She has treated patients with a wide range of diseases for the past twenty years. Her combination of acupuncture styles has proven to be extremely effective in treating insomnia and allergies, including asthma and seasonal allergies. In addition, her understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and the mechanisms of disease makes her acupuncture treatment much safer and much more effective.
Having grown up surrounded by physicians (Lydia’s father, brother, and mother are all doctors), and now sharing a practice with her husband, who is a busy internist, has benefited her greatly in treating a wide variety of Western diseases.
